Our Camaro is a rare one
indeed. It is essentially an all original, 40,000 mile, two owner,
and unmolested survivor. No stories, just a real, documented, late
production Z28.
It comes with full ownership
documentation from new. This includes Bill of Sale, POP,
Registrations, and ownership history. Also included is the Bank
Mortgage paperwork that shows the car used as collateral. Remember
those days!
Every component of this car is
number matching and correct (block, transmission, differential,
carburetor, pulleys, alternator, starter, etc.). The only items that
have been replaced are the wear items such as radiator hoses, rubber
brake lines, fan belts, tires and battery.
Original floors, original body
panels, original interior, factory original gaps. No rust, no
filler, no patch panels, no replacement quarters, no accidents.
We have had the car
professionally repainted in lacquer in the correct original color
and have had the doors, hood and trunk lid hung again with the
factory gaps. The only reason that the car was repainted was that we
couldn’t match the Endura bumper to the rest of the body. No skim
coats and the original lead is intact.
The body is so original that
the restorer who did the paint. Commented that he had forgotten what
an original un-restored car was like. He has been actively restoring
Camaros since the early seventies.
The original owner purchased
the car with an Endura bumper (a very rare option) and then has the
bumper replaced with a chrome one. She put the original Endura
bumper away in a cardboard box, where it sat from 1969 to 2009. When
we purchased the car the original bumper was included in the sale
and we decided to reinstall it.
The color of the Endura bumper
had been preserved exactly as it had been painted 40 years
previously. No amount of polishing would bring the body to the same
clarity to match the bumper, so after much soul searching we had the
car painted to match to match the bumper.
The car is rare on many levels,
the Endura bumper, its originality, low miles, and documented
ownership (only two). This rarity is now layered with the fact that
the car was produced about 3000 units from the end of production of
the extended 1969 Camaro production run.
Arguably it is one of the last
to come off the line, and how many would be RS variants with the
Endura option. Truly a rare find and one of the best on the Planet.
