The
truck we are offering for sale is indeed a rare one. It is a two
owner (we purchased the K5 from its first owner) that is as original
as you may find.
This
is an un-restored vehicle that was purchased new from Jack Carter
Chevrolet in Calgary, Alberta. It is a top of the line Silverado
that is optioned with:
·Small block V8
·Factory Fuel
Injection
·A/C (it blows cold)
·Power Steering
·Power Brakes (front
disk, rear drums)
·Power windows.
·Power locks.
·Rear passenger window
vents (really rare)
·Rear Heater (also
really rare).
·Power rear window.
·Two tone paint.
What
makes this vehicle unique is that it still sports its original
paint, interior, chrome and exterior trim pieces.
The
original owner also installed period correct accessories including
aluminum running boards, rear window deflector, carriage lights,
winter grill insert, bug screen grill insert and American Racing
Aluminum Wheels.
There
is no evidence of accidents and there is no rust, patch panels or
filler. The aluminum trim pieces are not dented or otherwise
damaged. The bumper and chrome is as new.
All
the glass, including the windshield (which does have a stone bruise
on the passenger side) is factory original. The interior has always
enjoyed seat covers and consequently there is virtually no wear or
tears. The dash pad is not cracked and the door panels are very
good. The carpet is original and has no tears.
We
started with an exceptional vehicle cosmetically, and turned it over
to a master technician to ensure that we ended up with an
exceptional vehicle mechanically:
·Change oil, oil
filter.
·Service front and
rear differentials with new oil and reseal with new seals.
·Change transmission
fluid, filter and gasket.
·Change transfer case
oil.
·Repair intake
manifold gasket leak, clean all parts and refit with improved
manifold gasket set.
·Pressure check
cooling system for leaks and replace antifreeze.
·Major tune up
including new plugs, distributor cap, rotor, spark plug wires, fuel
filter, air filter, adjust timing.
·Replace front and
rear steering box drag link ends and adjusting sleeve, lubricate all
steering components.
·4 wheel alignment.
·New heavy duty front
shocks (4) and 2 new heavy duty rear shocks.
·Replace 2 point rear
seat belts with 4 point harnesses,
·New rear brake drums,
brake shoes, and spring kit.
·New front brake pads.
·Flush brake fluid and
clean master cylinder.
With
parts and labor this fine vehicle has seen an investment of over
$5000.00 to bring the mechanical components to a high level.
Accompanying the vehicle are service receipts from the original
owner and our recent improvements. With just over 90,000 KMs this K5
has plenty of miles left
If one
is looking for an original, unrestored SUV that is reliable and fun
to drive, this is the one.
